Kristina Isabelle

Kristina Isabelle (Chicago, IL) originally from Columbus, OH, is the artistic director of Kristina Isabelle Dance Company and co-director of HighJinks Productions. Isabelle earned her BFA in dance from The Juilliard School and an MFA in dance and choreography from The Ohio State University. She spent several years dancing around the world with some of the most innovative modern dance troupes, most notably Bebe Miller, the Stephen Petronio Company, Earth Circus Productions, Dr. Danga Grimaldi Circus, and Jordan Fuchs, to name a few.

Isabelle has been dancing on stilts and incorporating stilt work into her choreography for more than a decade and is also a fire performer, aerialist and circus performer. In 2001, she created Kristina Isabelle Dance as a vehicle to produce dance works that expand traditional performance space, redefine audience perceptions, and establish groundbreaking movement vocabulary. Her choreography has been produced in Columbus, New York, San Francisco, Pittsburgh, Minneapolis, Fort Worth, England, Ireland and Poland at the Bytom International Dance Festival. She has been a finalist in the BalletMet choreographers project in 2004, 2006 and 2008. She has created works for Columbus Dance Theatre and numerous universities.
